Get to know the Indian food by experiencing our all-you-can-eat buffet every Friday and Saturday from 18.00 hrs. The dishes are prepared on a rather mild basis, however they can be spiced upon your taste from spicy to very spicy.
Sitar is proud to be the first Indian restaurant in Switzerland that is non-smoking. The cigarette smoke takes away all the natural taste of the spices and herbs.
What goes well with a good meal? Try our exclusive house wine "Mohini Navarra", which is produced for us. Its full-bodied aroma complements Indian food very well. New and only available at Sitar are our Indian wines - all beautifully crafted to accompany Indian cuisine.

"When Ghansham Aggarwal, founder and owner of the company "Aggarwal Fine Continental Food", immigrated to Switzerland in the early 80s, he had the dream to work at a Swiss bank. However his dream only came true half way - he obtained a job at the staff restaurant of the Bernese Cantonal Bank. The unplanned short trip to the world of Swiss cuisine at the restaurant, opened up new horizonts which Ghansham Aggarwal could use later to pursue his career in the food industry.
At the very beginning of his stay in Switzerland, it was very hard for Ghansham Aggarwal to adjust to the European food habits. The dishes seemed tasteless and at that time it was very hard to find some decent turmeric or chili powder. Hence Aggarwal came up with the idea to open up his very own grocery store with Indian food items. In 1986 his first shop in Berne was opened." (Resource: SPATZ Newspaper (October 2008))
What initially began with a few kilograms of import goods, grew in the 30 past years continously to a successful medium-sized comapny with its headquarters in Langenthal, 5 shops within Switzerland, 3 own production farms in India and Sri Lanka and a very own restaurant in Utzenstorf.
